Research and Publication

The Ecology Research Group consists of ten lecturers with various backgrounds in the field of study, all of whom have a vision to achieve healthy and sustainable ecosystem conditions so that they can contribute to the achievement of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda. In general, studies in the Ecology Group depart from efforts to answer various global issues in the field of Ecology / environment, namely: a) disruption of biogeochemical cycle equilibrium; b) carbon dynamics; c) decline in hydrological functions; d) land use change and habitat loss; e) dynamics and changes in biodiversity; f) invasive and/or exotic species; g) anthropogenic disturbances; h) pests and diseases. The forms of research, education (scientific development) and community service carried out by the Ecology Group to answer the challenges of these global issues can be divided into 4 (four) main fields of study, namely: 1) Ecosystem responses to global anthropogenic disturbances; 2) Ecosystem adaptive potential; 3) Ecosystem functions and services; 4) Complexity of interactions between ecosystem components.
